Cinematography

An close up is a shot of someones face or object.


An medium shot is a shot is when you can see the head and shoulders of a person.

An long shot is a shot where you can see the whole picture like a shot of the landscape.

An low angle shot is to show that the character is strong and powerful.


Ann high angle shot is to show that the character is weak and powerless.

An extreme close up to show fear or add drama to the shot as it is a extreme close up of a persons eyes or of a object.

A point of view is a shot to show what the character is seeing.
  

The other camera shots are tilt, tracking, crane, pan, steady-cam, and rolling shot.

The tilt shot is used to reveal a character or to show the size of a building or object.
The tracking shot is used to follow the action of a scene used when there is fast paced action such as a person running. The tracking shot is used to keep up with the action but not look like a POV.
The crane shot is a shot from above to give an overview of the area and is often used to show where the character is.
The pan shot is used to show where the person is going. It is on a fixed position and and moves across and is often used to show a chase scene.
The steady cam is also used in chases as when the cameraman follows one if the characters the camera will not move so the shot will stay steady.
The rolling shot is used to show when the character is thinking about something or has  realized that they have made the wrong decision.
