Question 3 What kind of Institution might distributed your media product and why?

An independent company would distribute our film because it wouldn't cost as much to distribute the film but also because if this film is a fail in the box office it would not affect the independent company that much as it would not cost that much in the first place. but with bigger named films if they fail they would affect the independent company a lot and could cause the company to go bankrupt.

But on the other hand major companies like Disney, paramount or universal if a big budget film failed at the box office it wouldn't affect the company that much as they have made so much money from the other movies they have produced. The reason why major companies would not distribute our film is because they wouldn't see much of a profit in the film.

However television wise I think Film 4 would distribute our film because film 4 show many popular movies like iron man but also many small movies like Dreams of a life. Also film 4 often help young inspiring directors by giving them a budget and dead line to make a movie these budgets aren't huge like the budget for Iron man or Avatar. Some of the minor films are made very quickly like Shifty was made in 18 days. This is why I think film 4 would distribute our film because film 4 support minor films   and distribute them which makes them more popular.

To get an audience for our film we could release different types of trailers on youtube for the different age groups like for the younger generation release an action packed trailer with lots of different shots and the tension building at the end of the trailer so they will want to go and watch it. But for older people have a trailer showing a bit more of what the story is about but also build the tension up slowly so by the end of the trailer they would want to go and watch this film. However the people who made shifty decided to get an audience for shifty they were going to use other ways. They sent an email to people as if they were characters from the film with a link to a website which took them to the shifty website. They also gave out  business cards with a website link at the bottom that took the person to the shifty website.

Question 4

We used survey monkey to find out what sort of people would be interested in our film and we found out that age wise it was more suited for people between the ages of 17 to 32 because the majority of the people who took our survey were between these ages. Also from our survey monkey our film would be more directed at males than females double the amount of males took the survey than females. Finally our film would be directed more at the working class people because it shows the stereotypes that there is against the working class people. But it could also be directed at middle and upper class people because there could be the stereotypes against them and it would motivate all classes to prove that these stereotypes are wrong. Furthermore the films intro has hitmen fighting over a USB but they clearly work for someone higher up.

Someone would want to continue to watch our film because although there is a lot going on in the intro the audience only know that they are fighting over a USB but don't know what is on the USB or who these people are fighting over the USB. Also our film might not be in linear narrative because the intro could be the middle of the film and the next part could show the audience the events leading up to this fight over the USB and the affects it had after the fight. Also our film has some mystery to it because no one knows who the person is who saved the innocent person or if he killed or saved the innocent person. Also in our survey we asked people what their favourite genre of film was and the most common one was crime and our thriller is a crime thriller so i think that the majority of the people who like crime films will like our film becuase it has aspects of the crime film in there like mystery.

In our audience feedback we asked ten different people what they fought of our final thriller. We asked 5 teens and 5 older people what they thought of our film and we found out that the younger people thought our film looked good as there was a lot of action in the opening and the older people thought our film opening was okay but had too much going on in the opening. This shows us that our film is more for young people becuase they seemed to like the film more than the older people. Our film was directed

Question 5

Our thriller attracts and keeps the audience by opening the film with fast paced action to grip the audience to see what happens next. also at the end of the intro an hitman kills the other hitman trying to kill an innocent person but all the audience can see is the rock being thrown down where the innocent and hitman was and then it cuts to the hitman dumping something in the lake and slowly walking away but the audience don't know if the hitman killed or saved the innocent and that would grip the reader as the would think the hitman killed him.

Also there is the USB the mcguffin which the audience don't care about and would leave the audience wondering why go through so much trouble for a USB and then wanting to find out what is on it. Also we tried  to keep the audiences attention by having suspense music building up the tension as both groups tired to get their hands on the USB. In our film there is no much non diegetic sound and that is because we didn't feel that it improved the film it was very windy when we were filming so much of non diegetic sound was destroyed by the wind.

In addition our thrillers story is deep and very interesting and there are twists and mytery in our film as the film progresses. The area where we filmed our opening of our film gave the impression that we wanted as it is a quiet area which is where the murder takes place.
